About me

I work at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Prof. Lewis Kay. My current focus is on understanding the molecular and biophysical basis for formation of membraneless organelles. Membraneless organelles are a relatively newly discovered class of intracellular organelles that are thought to arise from phase separation of protein and RNA components to form functional compartments for cellular processes to occur.

During my PhD I studied a protein called Yop1p, which is responsible for generating the high membrane curvature found in the tubular endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Follow this link if you'd like to learn more...
